6th Grade
Technology curriculum focuses on expanding and building upon computer/technology terminology and age-appropriate software. Keyboarding is reinforced in the areas of accuracy and speed. Students will type 40-45 words per minute with 90% accuracy. Students will build upon their the following concepts:
- Word Processing Software - formatting pages, indents, page breaks, macros, and headers and footers
- Spreadsheet Software - write more advanced formulas
- Presentation Software - design and present to an audience
- Database Software – tables, forms, queries and reports
- Desktop Publishing – terminology, grouping, layers
- Internet – Using as a tool
- Internet Safety
- Web design
- Web Tools – Picasa, Google SketchUp
7th Grade

Students will type 45-50 words per minute with 95% accuracy. Students will build upon their the following concepts:
- Word Processing Software – Mail Merge, macros, tracking changes
- Spreadsheet Software - write more advanced formulas
- Presentation Software - design and present to an audience
- Database Software – tables, forms, queries and reports
- Desktop Publishing – expand upon concepts
- Internet – Using as a tool
- Internet Safety
- Web design - HTML tags
- Web Tools – Picasa, Google SketchUp
8th Grade
Technology curriculum focuses on expanding and building upon computer/technology terminology and age-appropriate software. Keyboarding is reinforced in the areas of accuracy and speed. Students will type 50-60 words per minute with 95% accuracy.
Students will build upon their the following concepts:
- Word Processing Software –Styles, macros
- Spreadsheet Software - write more advanced formulas
- Presentation Software - design and present to an audience
- Database Software – tables, forms, queries and reports
- Desktop Publishing – expand upon concepts with projects
- Internet – Using as a tool
- Internet Safety
- Visual Basic – naming objects, variables, decision structures and loops
- Web design
- Web Tools – Picasa, Google SketchUp
