I grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. I attended The University of Illinois in Urbana. I graduated with Highest Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Education. I earned my Master’s degree from Illinois State University with a 4.0 average. I taught special education at Pontiac High School for four years. I have been teaching at St. Mary’s School since the fall of 1978, so this is my 42nd year at St. Mary’s.
Why do I teach? I teach in a Catholic School so that I can freely practice and express my faith in God. I teach middle school because kids that age have an idea about what is going on in the world, they have a sense of humor and they have a thirst for knowledge (although they don’t always admit it!). It is a wonderful blessing to see their faith grow over the years. I teach at St. Mary’s because God has called me to be here and I love it!
